My husband & I recently got married on the 12th of July. I told him i wanted to go wine tasting for our honeymoon so we could buy a wine bottle & save it for our 10 year anniversary. I've never been wine tasting before so I had no clue how to pick a bottle of wine. The last day of our honeymoon my husband surprise me by taking me to Fairhaven Vineyards where we were greeted by Mary the most sweetest lady ever. She was so helpful & nice. My husband & I had a great wine tasting experience. It was so great that we ended up buying 4 bottles of wine, 1 Peach Bellini mix, a wine cork, little hanging jewelry to decorate the bottles with, & 2 grape vine plants. :) We are definitely coming back in the future. This is the 3rd local winery I've visited, and the 4th locally-produced wine I've sampled, and I -- and my sister and Mom -- liked the wine and sampling method very much as compared to the other places I have visited. The setting/decor for the wine tasting room isn't quite as picaresque as other places, nor is the menu as extensive, but the adorable canine greeter and -- more importantly -- the tastiness of the wines we sampled were wonderful. We also liked their sampling policy -- a small (1 ounce) glass, price dependent upon the individual wine -- as opposed to wine served in test tubes. The menu isn't extensive or imaginative, but you can sample wine along with some crackers and cheese and have a grand old time. For quality of wine for the 3 local wineries I've investigated thus far, this is my pick.
Great Wines !!! Great People ! Did I say great wines. I live in Waxahchie Ellis County and I will be driving back down to the Vineyard for wine until I can get it in the stores !

BEWARE: We drove out of our way to go here only to find that they are open for tastings by appointment ONLY. Thanks a lot Google. The hours are posted as open from 10-5 on line.
